Welcome to Andrea Ustra:
Andrea Ustra is a PhD student from University of São Paulo - Brazil. She majored in Physics (State University of Campinas) and got her master’s degree in Geophysics (University of São Paulo). In her master’s she studied the application of the Resistivity and Induced Polarization methods to imaging a contamination plume generated by a sanitary landfill. For her PhD research, she is studying the induced polarization response generated by different types of contaminants. Andrea will be working with Lee Slater and Dimitrios Ntarlagiannis for the next six months, performing Induced Polarization measurements in the new near surface geophysics laboratory, as part of her research. |
New publications by our students:
The first part of Andrew Parsekian's Ph.D. research in Near Surface Geophysics has been accepted for publication in the American Geophysical Union (AGU) journal Journal of Geophysical Research - Biogeoscience. The paper, titled "Variations in free phase gasesgasses in peat landforms determined by ground penetrating radar", describes the first part of his work investigating methane accumulation in northern peatlands using geophysical techniques.
